Best AI girlfriend apps with voice, test driven

Most AI girlfriend apps now talk back, but voice is almost never free. On paper, Secrets AI and OurDream AI publish the clearest call prices (50 credits a minute on both), Kindroid has the most complete voice and video call setup, and Candy.ai, Swipey AI and DreamGF include voice on their paid plans without saying what a minute costs. Here is who offers what, on which plan, as listed on official pages on Oct 25, 2026.

This is a test drive guide. I read the pricing, help and terms pages. I have not made a single call on any of these apps, so nothing here says how the voices sound. That part needs a crash test.

How I picked these (on paper)

Every app below passed three checks on its official pages:

• It offers voice. Voice messages, live calls, or both, named on a pricing, help or subscription page.
• It bans real-person and deepfake content in writing. Voice cloning makes this matter more, not less.
• It publishes a price. At least a plan price, even if the per-minute cost is hidden.

Apps with affiliate programs come first where the facts allow. I say so when a different app fits a need better. Each app carries a paper score from ten checks against its official pages until a paid crash test replaces it. How I work is on How we test.

Two kinds of voice show up in this category, and plan pages often blur them:

• Voice messages: the character replies with an audio clip instead of text. Cheaper, often bundled.
• Voice calls: a live, back-and-forth conversation. Usually billed per minute in an in-app currency.

The apps with voice

Candy.ai

Candy.ai’s homepage describes voice notes and says your companion “can engage in voice conversations”, with a choice of voices from soft to confident. It does not use the word “call” or publish a per-minute or per-message token cost. Subscribers get 100 tokens a month, which the homepage says are used “across voice, chat, image, and video”, and you can top up. Premium starts at EUR 3.99 a month on the 12-month plan (EUR 47.88 a year), a promotional EUR price listed on Oct 25, 2026. More on the Candy.ai test drive.

OurDream AI

OurDream AI is one of the few apps that writes voice prices down. Its help center lists voice calls at 50 dreamcoins a minute and chat narration at 0 coins with select voices or 5 coins a paragraph with premium voices, as checked Oct 25, 2026. A subscription is $19.99 a month, or $9.99 a month billed $119.88 a year, and includes 1,000 dreamcoins a month. If you spent every coin on calls, that is 20 minutes a month on paper. Secrets AI

Secrets AI’s wiki says audio calls cost 50 Moments a minute, you need at least 50 Moments to start, and there is no maximum length. Calls can’t be recorded, and the audio is transcribed in real time and then deleted, so only the text is kept. Premium is $19.99 a month (or $109.99 a year) with 8,000 Moments, which works out to 160 call minutes on paper if you spend nothing on images. The free tier table ticks audio calls, but the same page says Moment-costing features need a subscription and free accounts get 0 Moments. Details on the Secrets AI test drive.

GirlfriendGPT

GirlfriendGPT’s homepage advertises “voice chat with your favorite characters”, and its plan copy splits voice by tier: voice messages from Premium, voice calls from Deluxe. The homepage FAQ lists Premium at $10 a month and Deluxe at $35 a month, but those plan names don’t fully match the current plan copy, so the prices may be outdated. Coins (400 a month on Premium, 1,200 on Deluxe) pay for generations, and per-action costs are not published. Read the GirlfriendGPT test drive.

Lovescape

Lovescape lists voice messages as part of Premium, alongside image and video generation and 600 monthly chips. I found no mention of live voice calls on its official pages. Premium is $19.99 a month, $12.99 a month on 3 months, or $7.99 a month on 12 months (billed $95.88), shown as discounted prices on Oct 25, 2026. If you only want spoken replies, not calls, it is one of the cheaper annual options. See the Lovescape test drive.

Dream Companion

Dream Companion’s subscription page lists “Voice messages & calls” as a Premium benefit, and its terms say voice is paid. It does not publish a coin cost per minute or per message; Premium includes 100 Dream Coins a month. The only price visible on Oct 25, 2026 was a sale figure of $0.19 a day on the yearly view, and the monthly price was not shown. Its homepage says it does not currently use chats to train its own models, which matters if you talk out loud. More on the Dream Companion test drive.

Swipey AI

Swipey AI’s pricing page lists “real-time voice calls plus voice messages in chat” under Premium only, at $7.99 a month billed monthly, as checked Oct 25, 2026. That is the lowest monthly price on this page with calls named. The catch: calls are billed per minute in Hearts, and neither the per-minute Heart cost nor Heart pack prices are published. DreamGF

DreamGF’s plans page listed voice messages and voice calls in Premium, along with 150 tokens a month. Premium is $12.99 for the first month, then $25.98 a month, as a promotional price in USD. One reviewer on Trustpilot says voice calls work only some of the time, but that profile had only 4 reviews, which is too few for a pattern. The homepage, checked Oct 25, 2026, mentions voice messages but not calls. See the DreamGF test drive.

Kindroid: the best fit for calls on paper

Kindroid has no affiliate deal with me, and on paper it is the most complete voice option here. Its subscription docs list voice calls, video calls, custom voices and monthly audio credits on Standard, at $15.99 a month on the US App Store. It is also the only app that publishes an audio top-up price: 500,000 audio credits for $14.99 in-app. The free preview includes 5,000 audio credits for voice messages but no calls, and the 3-day trial (150,000 audio credits up front) needs a payment method and converts to paid unless you cancel. CrushOn.AI

CrushOn.AI is a character chat site rather than a girlfriend app, but it has the cheapest entry to custom voices I found. Its pricing page lists voice messages, AI voice replies and custom voices, with 3 custom voice slots on Standard at $5.99 a month, 5 on Premium and 10 on Luxe. It does not mention live calls. Its real-person rule is narrower than most here, aimed at paid creator content and celebrity likeness. See the CrushOn.AI test drive.

Promptchan

Promptchan is mainly an image generator, and it is the only app here that prices voice in plain numbers on its upgrade page: a voice message costs 1 Gem and a voice call 2 Gems. The page does not say whether the call price is per minute or per call. Voice calls are listed only on Pro at $33.99 a month, which includes 800 Gems. More on the Promptchan test drive.

Quick comparison

All details from official pages, checked Oct 25, 2026. “Not published” means the service does not state it.

What a voice call really costs

Plan pages sell “unlimited messages” next to voice, which makes it easy to assume calls are unlimited too. On every app that publishes numbers, they are not.

Calls run on credits. OurDream AI and Secrets AI both charge 50 credits a minute. On OurDream’s 1,000 monthly coins that is about 20 minutes; on Secrets AI Premium’s 8,000 Moments it is about 160. Images and video drain the same balance.

Top-ups are often subscriber-only. Secrets AI says free accounts cannot buy Moments. OurDream AI needs a subscription to buy dreamcoins. Lovescape sells chips only to active subscribers.

Hidden per-minute prices. Swipey AI, Candy.ai, Dream Companion and DreamGF don’t publish what a minute costs. If voice is the reason you are paying, check the in-app price before your first call.

Trials that convert. Kindroid’s 3-day trial gives most subscriber perks, then bills you unless you cancel. Secrets AI says sale discounts can apply to the first billing period only, then the plan renews at the regular price.

Voice and privacy

Talking out loud gives an app more than typing does. Two things to read before your first call:

• What happens to the audio. Secrets AI says call audio is transcribed and deleted immediately, keeping only the text. Most others don’t say.
• Training. Candy.ai, Secrets AI and OurDream AI say they use chat data to train or develop their models. Dream Companion says it currently does not. Kindroid encrypts chats at rest and in transit, though not end to end.

OurDream AI’s terms also ban voice deepfakes and impersonation, which is the rule you want to see on any app with custom voices.

Left off on purpose

These apps offer voice but are not recommended here:

• Kupid AI: Pro lists 12 minutes of voice messages a week, but its terms don’t mention real people or deepfakes.
• Nomi: voice messages and calls on paid plans, but no specific deepfake or real-person clause.
• DarLink AI: 6 standard or 10 premium voices by plan, but no explicit rule against sexual images of real people, and it sells influencer-based personas.
• SoulGen: Soul Chat lists voice calls at 1 credit a minute, but its terms don’t name deepfakes or require users to be 18+.
• Muah AI: live calls on its top tier, and a 2024 breach that exposed about 1.9 million email addresses plus AI prompts, per Have I Been Pwned. Don’t use it.
