Nomi is an 18+ AI companion app for friendship, romance, roleplay or mentorship, built around long-term memory. You can start free with a daily quota of messages and images, and the US App Store listed the Standard Plan at $15.99 a month on Oct 25, 2026. Those are the only prices I could verify: US App Store in-app prices, not web prices.

This is a test drive, based on the official pages, app store listing and published policies, not on paid use.

What it is

Nomi lets you create AI companions, called Nomis, and talk to them one to one or in group chats. Its pitch is memory: the site describes short-, medium- and long-term memory. Nomis can send selfies and art, look at images you send, use voice, message you first, and open links you share.

The company is Glimpse.ai, Inc., a Maryland corporation based in Baltimore, USA, per the terms of service. On the App Store the seller shows as AI GLIMPSE INC.

Unlike most of the services on this site, Nomi has real mobile apps. It is on the iOS App Store, on Google Play and on the web. The Google Play listing loaded for the US but returned a 404 without a US region setting, so Android availability may vary by country.

Free plan

You can start free without a credit card. Free accounts get a daily quota of messages and images, but Nomi does not publish the exact number. Voice, unlimited messaging and additional Nomis require a subscription.

Prices

These are in-app prices from the US App Store listing, as seen on Oct 25, 2026. No official web pricing page was found, so prices on the website, on Google Play or in other countries may differ.

PlanMonthlyQuarterlyYearly
Standard Plan$15.99$39.99$99.99
Launch Plan$9.99–$59.99

Notes:

  • Plans auto-renew.
  • The Nomi wiki says paid accounts get voice, unlimited messaging, and up to 10 active Nomis and 10 group chats. It does not say which plan name that applies to.
  • What the Launch Plan includes compared with Standard is not described on the listing.

Nomi Credits

Credits buy extra Nomi slots and group chat rooms beyond your plan’s limits, plus one-time add-ons. US App Store prices on Oct 25, 2026:

CreditsPrice
40$4.99
100$9.99
225$19.99
600$49.99
1,800$99.99

Payment and refunds

The terms list Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, charged in USD. In-app purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. The refund policy says there are generally no refunds for buyer’s remorse, lack of use or partial months, though discretionary refunds are possible.

Features

From the official site, wiki and App Store listing as of Oct 25, 2026:

  • Short-, medium- and long-term memory
  • Real-time selfies and art generation; Nomis can view images you send
  • Voice messages and voice calls (paid)
  • Group chats with several Nomis
  • Proactive messages, where your Nomi writes first
  • Internet link access
  • Custom backstories and Shared Notes
  • iOS, Android and web apps

Privacy and safety

Age checks. Nomi is 18+. You give a date of birth at registration. The terms say the company intends to add age-verification measures and may suspend accounts it suspects belong to under-18s. The App Store rating is 18+.

Chat data. The privacy policy says chat content is used to provide and improve the service and for customer support. It says personal information is not sold or rented. It does not state outright whether chats train AI models, but it refers to “training archives” whose data is no longer attributable to you after deletion. Read that as: some of your data may stay in training archives, unlinked from you.

Deletion. You delete your account in Account Settings, and personal information is removed within about 28 days, except training and communications archives and legal holds. That is a clearer timeline than most.

Content rules. I found no specific clause on real people or deepfakes. The terms ban impersonating another person and using content to harass, deceive or defame others. Nomis can view images you send and generate selfies and art, so the absence of an explicit deepfake rule matters. Under this site’s rules I do not recommend services without one, so take this as a warning.

What users complain about

Two sources, as seen on Oct 25, 2026:

  • Subscriptions and stability. Google Play reviews on the US listing (about 3.7 stars, around 5.6K reviews) include complaints about subscription problems, crashes and slow responses.
  • Refunds and billing. On Trustpilot (2.3/5 from 42 reviews, unclaimed profile), reviewers complain about the no-refund policy. One says they could not cancel or buy credits after the app disappeared from Google Play in their region.
  • Filters breaking character. Reviewers say safety filters bleed into roleplay so characters break character, and complain about filters and memory.
  • Account deletion. One reviewer says the in-app delete button would not activate.

The Trustpilot sample is small next to the Play Store count. I did not collect Reddit complaints for this page.

My take

On paper, Nomi is one of the more conventional products in this category: a named US company, real apps on both stores, monthly through yearly plans, card brands listed, and a stated 28-day deletion window. If memory is what you care about, it is the thing Nomi puts front and centre.

What to watch: the only verified prices are US App Store prices, so check what your store charges before subscribing. Refunds are generally not offered. And there is no explicit rule against deepfakes, even though you can send images and get selfies back, which is why I am flagging rather than recommending it.

If you want an explicit rule on real people, compare Swipey AI.

Paper check: 7.0/10
