Candy.ai test drive

Candy.ai is a browser-based AI companion service with chat, images, video and voice. You can join free, but the free limits are not published, and the paid Premium plan was shown to me only in euros, from EUR 3.99 a month on an annual deal. This is a test drive based on the free sign-up and the official pages; a full crash test is coming.

What it is

Candy.ai lets you chat and roleplay with pre-made AI characters or build your own, then generate images, video and voice content around them. It has categories for AI girlfriends, AI boyfriends and anime characters.

It is run by EverAI Limited, a company registered in Malta (reg. no. C107181), according to the terms of service checked on Oct 25, 2026. There is no app store app. It runs in the browser, and you can add it to your phone’s home screen from the Share menu on iOS or the browser menu on Android.

Free plan

The homepage offers “Join Free” and mentions a free trial. What it does not offer is a list of free-tier limits. Premium promises “unlimited text messages”, which suggests free messaging is capped, but Candy.ai does not say where the cap is.

Prices

Prices below are as listed on the official subscription page on Oct 25, 2026. They were shown only in EUR (probably because of my location), and I did not see USD prices. The annual and quarterly prices are labelled as discounts, so treat them as promotions that may change.

All three tiers have the same Premium benefits: creating your own characters, 18+ images and video, unlimited text messages and 100 tokens a month. The subscription page adds that local taxes may apply.

Tokens

Tokens pay for generation on top of the subscription. You get 100 a month with Premium and can buy top-ups, but pack prices and per-action costs are not shown on the official pages. Per the terms of service, tokens expire when your subscription ends, do not carry over to a new one, and cannot be transferred or cashed out.

Refunds

The terms set a tight window. You must ask within 24 hours of payment, only card purchases qualify, and a subscription refund is refused if you used more than 20 tokens (a token purchase is refused if you used any). In the EU and UK you also have a 14-day withdrawal right on your first purchase.

Payment methods

The subscription page shows Apple Pay, Visa and Mastercard. The homepage also lists crypto, including BTC, ETH, USDC and Litecoin. The terms mention Pay by Bank and other methods in some countries.

From the official homepage and subscription page:

How good any of this is will have to wait for the crash test. A feature list tells you what is on the menu, not how it tastes.

Privacy and safety

Age checks. Candy.ai is 18+ only. The underage policy describes an age gate where you confirm you are over 18, and says EverAI “may also implement further measures” to verify adults. No verification provider is named, though the privacy notice lists age verification providers among the people who receive data.

Chat data. The privacy notice lists training and developing AI models and moderation technology as a purpose. It also mentions possible human review of de-identified or anonymised interactions, and says third-party language model providers “may receive the content of your messages”. Assume your chats are not just between you and the bot.

Deletion. There is no self-service delete button described. You email [email protected] or [email protected]. The privacy notice says account data is kept for 3 years after your last activity, financial data for 10 years and logs for 30 days.

Content rules. The community guidelines ban images that resemble real people, non-consensual intimate imagery and impersonation. Any content involving minors is banned.

What users complain about

I have nothing to report here yet. Trustpilot removed the candy.ai profile, so no reviews were shown, and the research tools could not reach Reddit. I am not going to invent complaints to fill the space.

My take

On paper, Candy.ai is a full-feature companion service with a cheap headline price, if you commit to a year. The EUR 3.99 figure is a discounted annual rate. The monthly plan works out to EUR 13.99 after the first month.

What to watch:

• The free-tier limits are not published, so you only find them by hitting them.
• The 24-hour, 20-token refund window is narrow. Decide quickly whether you like it.
• Tokens vanish when the subscription ends.
• Chats can feed model training and reach third-party model providers, and deletion is by email only.

It might suit you if you want chat, images and video in one place and are fine with a browser app. If you want a published free tier, Secrets AI lists its free limits openly. If self-service deletion matters to you, OurDream AI has a delete button in the profile.
