Secrets AI vs Candy.ai: test drive comparison

Short answer: on paper, Secrets AI has the clearer free plan and the stronger deletion terms, while Candy.ai is cheaper if you take its promotional 12-month deal. Secrets AI publishes its limits down to the character count of a message. Candy.ai publishes its prices and not much else. Both ban content of real people.

This is a test drive, not a crash test. I read the official pricing, help and policy pages, checked on Oct 25, 2026, and I did not pay for either. Anything that only shows up after sign-up is marked as such.

Different currencies again. Secrets AI prices in USD on its official help wiki. Candy.ai showed EUR on its subscription page, likely based on my location. I am not converting either, so treat the comparison as rough.

Secrets AI

As listed on the official help wiki’s subscription tiers page on Oct 25, 2026. The live checkout rendered client-side and my tools could not read it, so these are the wiki figures. They are not labelled as promotions.

Premium adds unlimited messages, video generation, Lorebooks, enhanced memory, Time Travel and priority support. Ultimate adds group chats with 2–3 companions, personas, proactive messages and custom personality editing. Message length goes from 500 characters on Free to 1,000 on Premium and 2,000 on Ultimate.

Moments pay for media. Published costs include:

• Image: 50 Moments; 2K image: 100
• Video: 600–1,200 Moments per 5 seconds, depending on the model
• Audio call: 50 Moments a minute
• Custom character: 500 Moments (the first one is free)

Purchased Moments do not expire, monthly grants reset without rolling over, and failed generations refund the Moments automatically. Pack prices are not published; the wiki points you to the in-app store.

Candy.ai

As listed on the official subscription page on Oct 25, 2026, with discounts shown against a EUR 13.99 list price.

Every plan includes your own characters, 18+ images and video, unlimited text messages and 100 tokens a month. Top-up prices and the token cost of an image or video are not on the official pages I read. Tokens expire when the subscription ends. A EUR 9.79 bi-weekly and a EUR 5.6 weekly charge also appeared in the payment window without a plan name attached.

Refunds and cancelling

Candy.ai allows a refund request within 24 hours of payment, refused if you used more than 20 tokens on a subscription, card purchases only. EU and UK buyers have a 14-day withdrawal right on the first purchase. You cancel in settings.

Secrets AI says Moment purchases are final, except for billing errors or where the law requires a refund. Its refund policy page would not render for my tools, so the subscription refund terms are not something I can quote. Plans are managed under User Settings > Subscription, with billing help at [email protected].

Free plan

This is the clearest difference between the two.

• Secrets AI: published in full. 20 messages a day (up to 100 for custom characters), 500-character messages, access to all companions, basic memory and audio calls. No Moments, so no images or video. The daily limit is tied to your device, so a second account will not get you more.
• Candy.ai: “Join Free” and a mentioned free trial, but no published limits. Premium promises unlimited text messages, which hints at a cap on free, without confirming it.

On paper, Secrets AI’s free plan lets you judge the chat before you pay. Candy.ai’s leaves the question open until you sign up.

Features

Both are browser apps that mix chat with media. Secrets AI documents more, and adds a story format Candy.ai does not have.

On memory, Secrets AI is specific. Premium is described as “4x access” with 60% more context and about 67% of previous conversations recalled. Ultimate is “6x access” with 100% more context. I cannot tell you what those numbers feel like in practice. Candy.ai does not describe memory on the pages I read.

Neither has a store app. Both run in a browser.

Privacy and safety

As read in the official policies on Oct 25, 2026.

Both use your chats to train their models, so neither is a diary. Where they split is deletion. Secrets AI deletes your chat history immediately from a button in settings. Candy.ai needs an email and keeps account data for three years after you stop using it.

On real people, both have the written rule I look for. Secrets AI also has no way to upload images, which removes the easiest route to a deepfake.

What users complain about

• Secrets AI: reviewers on Trustpilot mention generated images that do not follow the prompt, an AI that makes up details or repeats itself when it cannot recall earlier chat, and in one case little difference between tiers. One reviewer reported deleted images and companions; the company replied that characters designed to look underage were removed. Context matters here: the profile showed 4.5/5 from 283 reviews on Oct 25, 2026, it is claimed by the company on a paid Trustpilot plan, and these themes come from a small set of visible low-star reviews.
• Candy.ai: its Trustpilot profile has been removed by Trustpilot, and Reddit was not reachable by my research tools. I have no complaints to report, which is not the same as there being none.

Who should pick which

On paper, and hedged accordingly:

• Pick Secrets AI if you want to try before you pay, want self-service deletion, or care about memory and published limits. Expect to pay USD 109.99 a year or USD 19.99 a month for Premium, and USD 39.99 a month for group chats.
• Pick Candy.ai if you want the lowest annual price and are fine committing for 12 months. The EUR 47.88 figure is promotional and in EUR, and its token costs for images and video are unpublished.
• Think twice about either if what you want is a store app with in-app purchase protection. Both are browser-only.
