GirlfriendGPT is a browser-based AI roleplay chat where you talk to community-made or self-made AI girlfriends and boyfriends and generate images and video. You can start free with a small number of messages. The official FAQ lists paid plans at USD 5, 10 and 35 a month, but the plan names on the site do not match the FAQ, so those prices may be outdated. This is a test drive based on the free sign-up and the official pages; a full crash test is coming.

What it is

GirlfriendGPT is a roleplay chat platform. You can browse characters other users have made or build your own, setting appearance, personality and behaviour. On top of chat, it does image generation (including an anime generator), in-chat video, voice messages and, on higher tiers, voice calls.

The operator is NextDay AI Incorporated in Montreal, Quebec, with sister companies in Delaware and Cyprus. The terms are governed by Quebec law, as checked on Oct 25, 2026.

So treat these prices as possibly outdated and check at checkout.

Coins

Paid plans include monthly coins (400, 1,200 or 2,000, per the plan copy), which you spend on generation. Per-action costs and top-up prices are not published.

Refunds and payment

The site shows Visa, Mastercard and Discover. The terms name CCBill and TrustPay as payment processors, and CCBill purchases are refunded or cancelled through CCBill. The terms say subscriptions are generally non-refundable except for mistakes or technical problems.

A word on that APK. It is not from Google Play, and no store listing was confirmed. Installing apps from outside the store means you skip the store’s checks. The web app does the same job without that step.

Privacy and safety

Age checks. The terms and community guidelines say 18+ only. The site has an age-verification step that says it checks users meet the minimum age “to comply with age-related regulations in your region”. The method and provider are not named.

Chat data. The privacy policy does not say chats are used to train AI models. It does say personal data may be used “to adapt the Services to your needs and to develop new tools”, which is broad enough to cover a lot. It says data is not sold or passed to third parties without consent, apart from the cases it describes.

Deletion. You can ask for erasure through Support. No self-service delete is described. The privacy policy says data is usually kept for 6 years after the account is closed. That is a long time for chat logs of this kind.

Content rules. The community guidelines ban impersonation, uploading images of others without their consent, non-consensual intimate material and underage characters. The terms say using a celebrity’s name or likeness without consent may infringe their rights and will be acted on. Note that the rule is about consent, which suggests image uploads exist in some form.

What users complain about

GirlfriendGPT has very few Trustpilot reviews, so this is a tiny sample:

Image generation. A low-star reviewer says the image generator gives near-identical results whatever the prompt.
Performance. A reviewer reports slowness, lag and features not working as advertised.

The research tools could not reach Reddit.

My take

On paper, GirlfriendGPT has the lowest listed entry price in this batch, if the FAQ prices still hold. That is a big if. The plan names on the site disagree with the FAQ, and the Elite price is not published at all.

What to watch:

Check the real price and plan contents at checkout before you pay.
Data can be kept for 6 years after you close your account, and deletion is by request.
The APK is a sideload. Use the web app if you can.
Reviews are too few to say much, but the two themes are image variety and speed.
